Qualifying Portfolio Checklist
  • I include my Plan of Study statement
     

  • I include two clean printouts of two course papers. I mark at the top of each whether the paper is revised or not revised.
     

  • I include my Qualifying Manuscript (15-20 pages, including the bibliography). This is an original work written with an academic journal in mind.
     

  • My Qualifying Manuscript bibliography is annotated and includes 15-30 relevant sources.
     

  • Along with my Qualifying Manuscript, I include a copy of the information for authors that is provided by the publishers of the journal.
     

  • I include a 1-2 page cover letter that is addressed to the editor of the journal I have selected. The letter identifies the audience, purpose, and significance of my paper.
     

  • I include a reflective letter. I discuss the reasons for selecting the journal and Qualifying Manuscript topic and the process I used to prepare this paper, as well as the reasons for selecting the two course papers.
     

  • I include a CD ROM containing the two course papers and the Qualifying Manuscript.
     

  • I provide a telephone number, email address, and mailing address on the front cover of the portfolio folder.
