In the dry season there are eight "gorges," the first three of which we traversed--each individual "gorge" really being parts of the single Big Katherine Gorge that runs uninterrupted during the wet season of their summer, but in the dry season with each "gorge" cut off from the next one because of the low water here in this dry season.  We'd get out of one boat and take a short walk to the next, moving from gorge to gorge.
