The analogy between the wallaby and deer in western Pennsylvania holds up in regards to the residents versus visitors:  for us it was very exciting to watch these wallabies, but for folks from there, it was "same old, same old."  And visitors to western Pennsylvania get excited to see deer, but for us, especially living out in the middle of the woods back home, the deer are "same old, same old," no more unusual than spotting a dog.
