Fiction and Poetry Reading

• William Hallberg, novelist and short story writer, and John Hoppenthaler, poet, will read from their works and answer questions on Thursday, April 9, at 7:30 in the Susquehanna Room of the HUB.

English Club Kick Off Meeting

• An organizational meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 13th at 5:30 p.m. in Leo 3

APSCUF Dues Vote Increase Meeting

• April 14th Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Wilson Hall Lobby and April 15th Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Pierce Hall Lobby

Pizza and a Book Club Meeting

• Next book club meeting will be April 13th Monday 5:00-6:30 p.m. (with free pizza)
• 20 copies of World War Z (student-chosen book) available for 2 week checkout from Leonard 110

English Department Honors Ceremony

• Date: April 26th Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
• Location: HUB Ohio Room

Spring English Department Picnic

• Date: May 2nd beginning at 1 p.m.
• Location: local park TBA
• We'll provide an entre
• Please bring a dish to pass
• Open to all English Department members (tenure track faculty, temporary faculty, Teaching Associates, and staff)
• Significant others, children, and friends are all welcome

English Department Graduation Ceremony

• Date: May 3rd Sunday at 2:15 p.m.
• Location: Folger Crimson Event Center

Summer Chair Work

• Gian Pagnucci will chair in Summer I
• John Marsden will chair in Summer II

• September 11th (Friday)
• This retreat will focus on beginning work on our 5 year departmental review
• Please build into your syllabi alternative learning activities for this day so that you can be free to attend this retreat
• All department members (tenure track faculty, temporary faculty, and Teaching Associates) are encouraged to attend
