Seth Moglen is Associate
Professor of English and Co-Director of the South Side Initiative at
Lehigh University. He is the author of Mourning Modernity:
Literary Modernism and the Injuries of American Capitalism (Stanford
University Press, 2007) and he recently published a new edition of a
neglected classic of the 19th-century African American radical
political tradition, T. Thomas Fortune's Black and White: Land,
Labor and Politics in the South (Simon & Schuster, 2007). During
the 2009-10 academic year, he is a fellow at the Institute for
Advanced Study in Princeton, where he is working on a book entitled Bethlehem:
American Utopia, American Tragedy.
