About Works and Days
Works and Days provides a scholarly forum for the exploration of problems in cultural studies, pedagogy, and institutional critique, especially as they are impacted by the transition from print to electronic environments. Each issue of the journal is organized around specific inquiries conducted as shared disciplinary or post-disciplinary research projects. We will assist persons seeking to form such research groups in establishing appropriate listservs, teleconferences, and hypertext formats.
Recognizing that much of the work of cultural studies requires collaboration, we are especially interested in investigating the implications of telecommunications for teaching and research in cultural studies, but we welcome investigations of related issues. Once a shared inquiry is proposed as an issue of Works and Days, the participants in the project work in conjunction with our editorial collective to fashion appropriate protocols and formats for their research.
Works and Days
aims to serve not only as a forum for collaborative research and teaching, but
as an environment in which mutual inquiries may flourish. Thus, we are eager
to hear from collaborators who are already at work on projects suitable for
publication in Works and Days. We also encourage proposals
for joint projects and will assist in their formation. In addition, we invite
participants in symposia, conferences, and other group work to consider developing
their projects through online collaboration and publishing their outcomes as
special issues of Works and Days.
