Next Step Student Web Page

This page is about and for our students. (There's a lot of intersting stuff here for parents to look at too!). It showcases the students' work and includes pictures from the program.

Next Step Program Goals for Students

The main goal of the Next Step Program is to encourage you to think about your future. Once you get your high school diploma, what will you do next? Everyone needs a job, but what kind of job? And how will you get that job? What skills will you need to have a productive career? In the past, when your parents and grandparents were growing up, a lot of people got great jobs right out of high school, and some people didn't even finish high school. But times have changed. Today's job market is highly competitive and even the simplest jobs are starting to require more technical skills. The best jobs, those that pay well and keep you mentally challenged, all require some kind of advanced education. To get that education and then that good job, you'll have to take the next step, into college, technical school, or maybe the military. But even more important than earning a good job, working on your education is the key to happiness. People who are lifelong learners, those who are always reading, writing, thinking, and questioning, tend to lead the most enjoyable lives. Why? Because to a lifelong learner, every day is full of exciting new possibilities.
