About the English Department Website
Our latest web design follows the IUP campus standards. Additional enhancements, layout improvements, and other features were also developed by our current website team. If you would like to send any comments or questions that you have please send an email to someone from the Current Website Team.
Current Website Director
The current website director has been working on this site since it was first launched in 1996. He oversees the site's development as a whole, approves text and data for uploading to the site, and works to ensure that new website managers do their job correctly and in a way that allows future managers to easily take over manager requirements.
Gian's interest in technology developed during the five years he worked as a professional technical writer. Gian has published
a number of articles about using computers to teach composition. He also
has two books forthcoming from Hampton Press on technology: Re-mapping Narrative: Technology's Impact on the Way We Write and TechCulture, Literacy, and the Academy. Gian also uses technology
regular when teaching his English courses, especially English 322: Technical Writing.
Gian's favorite thing to do when he's not teaching is to play with his
two sons, Cormac and Loughlin. He also likes to give presentations on integrating writing and mathematics with his beautiful wife, Edel Reilly, who is a middle school mathematics teacher at Westmont Hilltop Middle School in Johnstown, PA.

Current Webmaster
Glen A Plumley is an undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Mr. Plumley had intended to enroll as a computer science major in the spring of 2007, when a chance meeting with an alien observer from Saturn's largest moon - Titan, convinced him that he was destined to craft the next great American owner's manual. After convincing his wife that his life's mission was now clear (and that he would get a job on campus as soon as was humanly possible) he enrolled as a 47 year-old sophomore transfer student at IUP.
Mr. Plumley is a past Sales Engineer for Maxtech Microwave Electronics, now a division of General Dynamics C4 Satellite Systems, and has traveled extensively in Asia.
In his spare time, Mr. Plumley enjoys digital photography, gathering edible wild mushroom, and keeping an on-going correspondence with the fictional character Kilgore Trout.
Mr. Plumley is also the webmaster for the colleges radio station; WIUP.

- D. Corey Sanderson, Website Manager (2006)
Corey Sanderson has been working on this site from January 2006 to present. His
job entails the updating of the English website's content and the improvement of
said website's functionality, appearance, and balance.
During the eighth grade, Corey began to take courses at Duquesne University
concerning web design, computer hardware and software, and multimedia.
This continued until about the tenth grade when he began to pursue other areas
of study.
When time permits, Corey likes to play guitar, "free study" politics, and, like
former website manager Robert Saxon, partake in compositional writing as well as
various forms of literature.
- Robert Saxon, Website Manager (2003-2005)
Robert Saxon worked on this site from September 2003 to December 2005. He was in charge of updating the site's content and improving the site's overall unity and functionality.
Robert's interests in technology started when he first learned how to program video games for the old
Commodore 64 computers. Like Dr. Pagnucci, he is also interested in the way that technology is changing and shaping the way that we write and communicate as a culture.
When he is not working with technology, he spends his time studying literature and composition.
