The National Writing Project is unique in its ability to generate a steady stream of teacher leadership into the educational system and to produce high quality professional development on a national scale year in and year out. Through the ongoing presence of the National Writing Project, teachers can accumulate--and disseminate--solutions to teaching's toughest problems. The National Writing Project develops educational capital in the form of teacher leadership that " keeps on giving" to classrooms, schools, and the larger educational system and profession.
