Online Application

The link below will take you to the online application form. Allow 20-25 mintues to complete it. The form will prompt you for contact information. It will also ask you to submit a brief description of your background and teaching experience, including your current or planned writing assignments. Finally, you will be asked for a one-page statement presenting one aspect of your classroom teaching that you would like to share.

Applicants should begin to save some samples of student writing. If you are invited to participate in the Summer Institute, you will use the student writing samples in order to look closely at what they tell you about your students' response to assignments and about your teaching. Save copies of the surprises - good and bad - that you encounter as you proceed through a year of writing in your classroom.

Applicants will be invited to meet with the SPWP directors to share personal background and teaching experience prior to the beginning of the Summer Institute.

 Apply On-Line!
